A heartfelt tribute to my childhood friend and Sister.
Chizoba, I still can’t wrap my head around the reality of your death. You were an epitome of humility, generosity, resourcefulness, candor and strength.
Thank God for the times we shared together.
Our unforgettable flight from New York to Lagos onboard Nigeria Airways DC10 in our early 20s in 1984.
Our trip to LA when my kids were very little and their 1st trip to Disneyland.
Our trips to Georgia and yours to Maryland.
Your 60th Birthday in Texas. I remember how we sat in your hotel room and gisted about life in general and at your niece’s wedding in Houston.
Chizo, we didn’t talk as often as we should have, but when we did, it was long and meaningful.
I will truly miss that.
I remember our last conversation when you called to check up on me after my mom passed and was encouraging me to take things easy. Little did l know that that was going to be one of our last conversations.
I will truly miss you, my childhood friend and sister.
Rest on, my dear sister.
To my dear Chuka, Nnamdi, Obi, Afam, Ify, Oguejiofor and Ufo, may Almighty God continue to give you all the fortitude to bear this great loss in Jesus name
