A Gem Has Passed to Glory

in Tributes

My dear cousin Chizo,

As I write this tribute, I can hear your voice: resilient, decisive, and purposeful, and feel your instinctive and caring mind that had evolved to that of a matriarch ( Ada Ezefum).

We spoke on the phone when I was in Florida over a month ago. My schedule was tight, and somehow, I could not get to see you and other beloved family members in the US. I didn’t know at that time that it would be the last time we would speak on this earth.

I was speechless and numb on hearing of your passing because I was trying to reconcile the strength in that voice when we spoke with what was just relayed to me . It dawned on me that it was vintage you, a pillar of strength till the end. Not only were you strong, but you were an epitome of beauty and elegance. You never took your responsibilities lightly, and you impacted lives.

Words are not enough to capture the essence of who you are, dear Chizo. You have left an indelible mark on the sands of time, and you will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace until we meet again.
